Colbridge Web Logics operates the Commuter Hub mobile application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls available to you.
1. Scope & Core Principles
Commuter Hub is built to provide public transportation information and local service status updates. We do not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or register a phone number to use the app.
We do, however, use third-party advertising and analytics services that automatically collect certain device and usage data. This policy explains what those services collect, why, and how you can control it.
2. How to Delete Your Data
Commuter Hub does not maintain user accounts. You can delete data associated with your use of the app in the following ways.
Local data (cached routes, saved favourites, app preferences): go to your device’s Android settings under Settings → Apps → Commuter Hub → Storage, and select Clear data. This removes all locally stored data immediately.
Anonymous device identifier and associated server data: uninstalling the app removes your anonymous Firebase UID and any data associated with it from our servers. Residual data is deleted within 30 days.
Data held by third-party SDK providers: data collected by Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase is governed by Google’s privacy policies. To request deletion, contact info@colbridge.com with details of your request. We will forward your request to the relevant provider and confirm completion within 30 days.
Advertising ID: to reset or delete your Android Advertising ID, go to Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device.
For any deletion request or question about your data, contact us at info@colbridge.com.
3. What We Collect
3.1 Data you provide
Commuter Hub does not require personal information to function. You are not asked for your name, email address, or phone number to browse routes or view service status.
If you submit a route or status update, that content is stored anonymously and is not linked to your identity.
3.2 Automatically collected data
The app integrates third-party SDKs for advertising and analytics. These services automatically collect:
- Device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address
- App usage events, such as screens viewed, session duration, and app opens
- Device information, such as model, operating system version, and network type
This data is transmitted to the respective service providers and is not stored locally on your device in a form you can clear through the app.
3.3 Direct ad delivery data
When you view or interact with a direct advertisement (an ad placed by a merchant advertising on Commuter Hub), we log an impression or click event. This data is stored on our own servers and is used to report aggregate performance to advertisers. It is not linked to your personal identity.
3.4 Payment data
If you purchase advertising on Commuter Hub, payment information is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your payment card details on our servers. Our current payment processor is Razorpay, whose handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policy.
4. Physical Proximity Verification
To submit real-time status updates (such as local ferry arrival information), the app uses your device’s location to verify that you are near the relevant station or platform. This verification happens on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or stored in any external database.
Location data used for advertising purposes is described in Section 3.2.
5. Advertising and Analytics
Commuter Hub displays advertisements from two sources: direct advertisers (merchants who purchase ad space through our website) and third-party advertising networks.
5.1 Direct advertising
Merchants can purchase ads targeted by location — Local (within approximately 500 metres of a chosen pin), State (within a selected Indian state), or Nationwide (across India). When you view a direct ad, we log an impression. When you tap a direct ad, we log a click. This data is aggregated and reported to the advertiser. It is not linked to your personal identity.
5.2 Third-party advertising and analytics
The app integrates third-party SDKs that may collect device identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID), approximate location, and app usage events. These SDKs operate under their own privacy policies.
Specific providers currently in use:
- Google AdMob — advertising
- Google Analytics for Firebase — analytics
- Razorpay — payment processing
We may add or change providers in future. When we do, this section will be updated to reflect the current list.
5.3 Your controls
To limit personalized advertising, you can adjust your device’s ad settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android. This allows you to reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising.
Because the app does not operate its own analytics infrastructure, there is no in-app toggle for analytics. Any analytics data collection is performed by the third-party SDKs described in Section 5.2.
6. Data Control & Management
You can clear locally cached data through your device’s Android settings under Settings → Apps → Commuter Hub → Storage. Clearing app data removes locally cached routes, saved favourites, and resets your app instance identifier.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Data collected by third-party SDKs (Section 5.2) is governed by those providers’ policies and is not cleared by uninstalling the app. To manage this data, use the device-level ad settings described in Section 5.3.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- With third-party SDK providers (Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase) for advertising and analytics purposes
- With our payment processor (Razorpay) to process advertising payments
- With direct advertisers, in aggregated and anonymized form only (impression and click counts)
- When required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request
8. Data Retention
Locally cached data on your device persists until you clear it through Android settings or uninstall the app.
Aggregated ad performance data (impression and click counts) is retained on our servers for reporting purposes.
Data held by third-party SDK providers is retained according to their respective policies.
9. Children
Commuter Hub is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International Users
Commuter Hub is designed for users in India. The app is available globally, but its content, advertising, and targeting are India-focused.
If you access the app from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India and in the jurisdictions where our third-party providers operate.
11. Privacy Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes in the app, our service providers, or applicable regulations. Updates will be posted at this URL with a revised “Last Updated” date.
